Antelope is located northeast of Sacramento near Citrus Heights. The weather is moderate, with average temperatures that range between 38 (winter) and 95 degrees (summer) F.
Antelope was the main settlement in the Center Township during the late 1800s. The settlement was mainly inhabited by railroad workers, as the construction of the railroad moved forward, many workers left the settlement and Antelope became just another small rural community. On April 1973 Antelope was almost blown away by a large bomb explosion at the Roseville switch yard. Antelope was rebuilt in the late 1980s, and because of this neighborhoods are very new, areas are well planned out, and there are plenty of modern single-family homes and apartments.
Antelope boosts a wide variety of recreational parks, along with many restaurants and wine tasting lounges. Also, while being a calm and relaxing place to live, for those looking for a more urban environment, Antelope is very close to Sacramento; and for those looking for nature, Folsom lake is just a short drive from Antelope.
